Oscar-Nominated Star Diane Ladd, Famed For Alice Doesn’t Live Here Anymore, Passes Away at 89 Years Old.

The Oscar-nominated actress Diane Ladd, a Hollywood veteran has died at the age of 89.

This actor, whose credits spanned National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation, passed away at home in Ojai, California. Her passing was revealed via an announcement by her daughter, award-winning actress Laura Dern, her daughter.

Her daughter, who starred with her mom in various films including Rambling Rose, referred to her as “my wonderful hero and my precious gift as a mother”, stating that she was at her bedside when she passed.

“She was an exceptional grandmother, mother, daughter, star, artist as well as compassionate soul that felt like a dream come true,” she stated. “We were fortunate to know her. She is flying with her angels now.”

Early Career and Breakthrough

Her initial acting years included minor parts in television programs including The Fugitive whereas that decade featured her performing next to Jack Nicholson in the classic Chinatown.

In the same year, 1974, she appeared with Ellen Burstyn in Martin Scorsese’s celebrated dramatic comedy Alice Doesn’t Live Here Anymore. Her acting brought Ladd her initial Oscar nod for best supporting actress.

Subsequent Years
