This young athlete has impressive online presence
The young golfer can count on multiple prominent backers when she makes her LPGA debut this Thursday.
This teenage golfer, who is connected to a former US president, obtained a special exemption to compete at Florida's Annika event in the Sunshine State.
Her grandfather, an avid golfer, possesses several courses worldwide and often plays against his granddaughter.
"He's pretty good. I can't reveal details but we play some close matches," she mentioned.
Kai explained that her grandfather, unable to come, told her: "Just stay calm."
"He basically told me to compete and enjoy myself," she continued.
"To me, he's just a normal grandpa. He won't be there for the tournament. He's focused on world affairs, making him rather occupied."
While still amateur, the golfer has participated in only three events recently and maintains ranking 461 in the American Junior Golf Association rankings.
However she can seek guidance from Tiger Woods, romantically involved with Kai's mother.
"He represents the top athlete globally," Kai stated.
"And he's a superior individual. He suggested me to compete, enjoy myself, adapting to the flow."
Kai will face several most prominent players in professional golf at this tournament, including second-ranked Nelly Korda, British golfer Hull, Lexi Thompson and last year's winner champion Vu.
Tournament organizers mentioned that Kai's presence helps introduce golf to wider groups, particularly among youth audiences.
Kai maintains a massive following and just introduced her own clothing and lifestyle label.
The competition starts at late afternoon GMT.
